SHORT TERM MISSIONS WITH LONG TERM BLESSINGS
Homes of Hope has been an incredible way for families to engage in missions. Team members have not only made a profound impact on the recipients of the homes we build, but giving selflessly makes a lasting impact on us as builders. We leave blessed as a team and we have created lasting friendships with the people we built alongside of. We provide a tangible need that will transform a family's life in many ways; economically, educationally, spiritually, & in health. Providing a home is an incredible way to share Christ's love!
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
1) Join us on a build! We build one home per trip with a team of up to 20 people. There is something to do for most skill levels. From painting, to framing and roofing!
2) Give! It costs $11,154 to build a 16' x 20' home with basic furniture. Church on the Rock contributes a portion of these costs. The remainder of the cost is paid by team members and through donations.
3) Pray! We want to lift up the family receiving the home. Please pray for safety, financial provision & strength for the team members & their leaders.

$870 per person. This includes lodging, meals and transportation to/from YWAM base. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at time of registration to hold your spot. Balance will be due 45 days before the build date you register for. The $870 also includes a contribution towards construction materials. Is airfare included?
Roundtrip airfare to San Diego, CA is the responsibility of each team member. You are free to fly on whichever airline you prefer. Please choose flights that fit the trip transportation timelines.
How many people are on a team?
The goal is 15 people per build.
What ages can go?
We personally would not recommend anyone under age 6. There is a lot going on during the build and we want everyone to be safe.

What is lodging like?
YWAM facilities are very nice and safe. *Please expect dorm style lodging. On a rare occasion, families may be roomed together, but this not the norm for the package we pay for. There will be other teams at the base while we are there, along with YWAM staff and students. There are community areas with seating and gas firepits.

What are meals like?
We will eat in a cafeteria with others for breakfast and dinner. Lunch is provided at the job site. There is a coffee shop on site as well.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Nope! Each team is provided with a translator while on the jobsite, so we have the opportunity to build a relationship with the family.
Do I need a passport?
No. An enhanced WDL is sufficient to cross the border by land. However, there are different rules for minors. We suggest you call the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to get accurate border crossing information as it pertains to your family, or check online HERE.

Do I need to bring any tools?
No. Everything you need to help with building the home is supplied.
What can I expect to be doing?
There will be a concrete slab poured when we arrive on site. We will be provided a lead builder, an apprentice builder, a translator, and a host who makes sure we are fed and watered! All of the lumber and materials will be on site when we arrive. Battery powered tools, hand tools and everything we need to build the home will also be provided. Jobs range from painting the exterior, interior and trim all the way up to framing, and roofing. We are guided every step of the way. A small team will take the family shopping for food and supplies (each team member is encouraged to bring a cash donation for this - $20-25 usd per person) We encourage you to interact with the family and get to know them. Building a home for a family is a big deal and will often draw out neighbors to help or the neighborhood kids to get involved! And of course, sharing the love of Jesus is why we are really there!
What should I bring?
Work clothes and shoes (prepare to get dirty!), casual clothing for dinners, light jacket or sweater, sunblock, hat, sunglasses & toiletries.
Is there anything else I should know?
Yes! If you are over 18 years old, we will need a copy of your current background check prior to departure. Church on the Rock attendees who have been through Cultivate should have one on file with the church office.
